Babygirl

The sun is long set
And these meager torches fail to hold back the dark
Her touch brings solace to body
But does nothing for my wounded heart
For it is only you that I love, have loved, will love
No matter how many years my life may span
For you were born to be my lady
And I was born to be your man
But fate is cruel and tricksome
And death snatched you from my embrace
And now my world is diminished
For it lacks your stunning grace
You had the voice of an angel
With a body to make men sin
Our life together was ended
Before it could even begin
You were my Queen of Love and Beauty
Although we'd never met
Eight years now you've been gone
And still I can't forget
