Sweet Surrender

Your voice calls out to me
Across the valleys and the fields
And with every word spoken
I feel the weakening of my will

My legs no longer support me
I sink down to my knees
And with every word spoken
I feel my heart being squeezed

You ask for my heart
I give it over without a qualm
I rip it from my chest
And place it in your palm

You ask for my love
A thing for no one but you
You ask for obedience
I do whatever you tell me to

You ask for my protection
I stay awake to guard your sleep
You ask for my life
I keel over at your feet
